Rugby League Jersey Framing
I had framed this jersey a couple of years back. This is a Parramatta Eels rugby league jersey.
It is not easy framing jerseys, although at first it may look that way. When framing jerseys, one has to take special attention to mounting it properly. The jersey shall never touch the glass in the frame, so this consideration is important in the moulding selection. No glue shall touch it too. Mounting shall only be done by pinning, or sewing it to the backing board. This takes lots of practice, but I learned to do it right with not a lot of effort at all.
I normally double mat the jersey using team colours if possible, have my engraver do a plaque for me, and sometimes I use UV glass and archival mats, at other times opting to use normal decorative mats and normal glass. My customer makes this call based on the value of the jersey and their budget.
I love framing jerseys!
