| This collage art was
brought in initially to be repaired. The glass was
missing, presumably it was broken at some stage since
there was some damage done by the broken glass on the
surface of the artwork. This frame was actually water
damaged and it was apparent in the warping, buckling and
discoloration of the existing mounts. I had inspected
the frame but found out that it condition was pretty
poor and the fact that it was an inferior quality
moulding made of plastic didn't help. So we had to
completely re-frame this item. The frame needed about
15mm depth and this was done by the use of acid-free
foam core spacers which was also used in between the
double mats. |
