Framing my first marathon medal

Marathon Medal

This first post kicks off my long overdue plan for my picture framing blog. I have been mulling over it for the past few months, hopefully I can keep the momentum going and post framing project here that may be of interest to you.

So, as the title says, I have framed my first marathon medal to commemorate the memories of when I finished my first ever full marathon. 42.2 long kilometers in the Sydney Marathon 2010.

This is my standard in framing objects, specially memorabilia frames like this medal, race bib and photo certificate. I had used a deep matte black semi-circle profiled frame, together with a similarly finished fillet. This gives it a look of a miniature frame inside the main frame. The use of suede mats makes object framing look quite elegant and more expensive than it is, so that's a great tip to remember for future framing projects.

All materials used are of conservation quality, and UV filtering glass completes the project.
